11 Characters of a Hypocrite - Revelation 3:14-16
    14 "And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, 'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:  15 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.  16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,* I will vomit you out of My mouth.  NKJV
When somebody ask you “who are you?” meaning the person want to know your identity. “Who you are” does not mean mentioning your name but going more than that.
When somebody asks you “who are you” meaning he want to know who you really know but you can deceive that person by giving the person a false Identity.
One of the things that unbelievers complain about believers is that, there are so many hypocrites in the church. I call it “fake Christianity”
The word hypocrite is derived from the Greek term for “actor” – literally, one who wears a mask.

Pharisee - Luke 12:1-2 "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Who is a HYPOCRITE?
A person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
A person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings.
A person who pretends to have a virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles etc. that he/she does not actually possess.
A person who engages in the same behavior he condemns others for.
A person who holds other people to higher standards than he hold himself.
A hypocrite is a person who – but who isn’t
The only thing worse than a lair is a lair that’s also a hypocrite (Tennessess Williams)
The only vice that cannot be forgiven is hypocrisy, the repentance of a hypocrite is itself hypocrisy.
There are two forms of hypocrisy
That of professing belief in something and acting in manner contrary to that belief,
And that of looking down on others when we ourselves are flawed.
13 things Jesus said about HYPOCIRTE
Giving to the poor to be recognized by others.
Matthew 6:1,2 “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.” KJV

Praying in public to be recognized as “God’s man.”
Matthew 6:5
“ "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. NIV
   

Letting everybody know you are fasting to get recognition by others. Matthew 6:16
“"Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.  17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,  18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. NKJV

Complaining about others behaviors when yours is even worse.
Matthew 7:5
“You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. NIV

Pretending to honor God through lips service only.

“6 He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: "'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.  NIV

Testing other people to try to make yourself look superior.
