WHY THE FINAL JUDGMENT?
a. To punish satan and his demons. – 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 6
For if God
did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into
gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment;
And the angels who did not keep their
positions of authority but abandoned their own home-these he has kept in
darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.
b. To punish people who have chose to
follow the path of satan. –
The reason
why I said God is going to judge those who have chosen the path of satan is
that God has not make man robot, but to have their own will. The truth is that
God will not throw any man to the fire of judgment but throw sin into it. God
will send sin to the fire and sin will send people to the fire. No name was
mention but the things that were mention are all act of sin. Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers,
the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters
and all liars-their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
This is the second death.” Galatians 5:19 “The acts of the sinful nature are
obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry
and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits
of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21
and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did
before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. NIV
Jesus even
said in Matthew 25:41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from
me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his
angels.
c. To fully establish His perfect
kingdom -
With satan
gone and sinners out of the way it will be a time for God to establish His
perfect kingdom. There will be no opposition to oppose, accuser to accuse,
deceiver to deceive, and tempter to tempt.
The focus of
God’s creation was and is humanity. God created man as Himself; the only
difference is that God has no beginning and no end and man has beginning but
has no end. Bible says “and man became a living soul” Gen. 2:7, living soul the
sense that, the soul of a person will never die because it is from the Lord and
part of the Lord.
The bible
has a phrase that describes this type of judgment, “the Day of the Lord”. That
day is repeated about 18 times in the Old Testament. It shows how serious that
day will be. Look at this text; Isaiah 13:6 Wail, for the day of the LORD is
near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty. 7 Because of this, all hands will go limp, every
man's heart will melt. 8 Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip
them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each
other, their faces aflame. 9 See, the day of the LORD is coming — a cruel day,
with wrath and fierce anger — to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners
within it. 10 The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their
light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. 11
I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an
end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless.
12 I will make man scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir. 13
Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its
place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger. NIV
No flesh
should think of able to stand that day. In Revelation the question was asked, “For
the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? [6:17] KJV
