HAVE YOU RECEIVED YOUR INVITATION TO
THE ROYAL WEDDING? – Rev. 19:6-7
6 Then I
heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and
like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God
Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the
wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.8
Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands
for the righteous acts of the saints.) 9 Then the angel said to me,
"Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of
the Lamb!'" And he added, "These are the true words of
God." NIV
Introduction
There are
three great main events in human life that happens once in your life. They are;
1. Naming ceremony (which is organize by your parent
and you cannot witness.)
2. Marriage ceremony (which is organize by yourself and
you witness everything.)
3. Funeral ceremony (which is organize by your family
and you does not witness.)
Among the three ceremonies in your life it is only your wedding that you
can enjoy to it fullness. This ceremony is even important to God that is why he
performed his first miracle at wedding ceremony.
During the seven years of rapture in heaven, there will be series of
programs design by God, as the Church will be kept from the seven years of the
world’s greatest tribulation. Two of the common programs include “giving of crowns and rewards” which will take place at
the Bema seat of Christ and “the marriage supper of the
Lamb” which will also take place at the Great White throne.
The marriage supper of the Lamb will be organize or is organized by God
for Jesus to introduce the Church, the Redeemed, the Saints,
the Believers, the Called out, and the
Elect. I want to ask how many of us were able to watch on the Friday
29 April 2011 the royal wedding between Prince William of Wales and Kate at
Westminster Abbey. That wedding ceremony halted every program on BBC and CNN. I
will be comparing this wedding to my sermon because it is a perfect picture of
what will one day happen in Heaven between the Church and Christ.
1.
WHAT MADE THE WEDDING
CEREMONY ROYAL
The wedding ceremony was between the late Princess Diana’s son a royal of
the kingdom of Great Britain, Prince William Philip Arthur Loius and a common,
nobody, unroyal, unrecognized, unimportant woman Catherin Middleton. This is a
perfect picture. The very creator of Heaven and earth as the Bible introduce
Him in verse 6 “For our Lord God Almighty reigns” His only begotten Son
Jesus Christ, the prince of Heaven. The wedding between Prince William and Kate
was not called royal, because both of them were coming from royal line but it
the man who was coming from royal family. The prince made the wedding ceremony
royal because he is the one coming from the royal family. If we take away the
prince William from the wedding, will it be called royal? No why, because he is
the person that the royal blood runs through. If we take away Kate, will it be
royal wedding? Yes why because she does not come from any royal family. I had
my wedding on 11th December 2011 at Assemblies of God Church, Akim
Oda. My wife is a Ga and I am Akyem. Our wedding was not called royal wedding
because none of us was coming from royal family. Christ our husband to be is
the Son of the Most High God, the king of Kings and Lord of Lords. Christ is
not only a prince but also a king. When the priest was preaching at the wedding
ceremony of the royal wedding he said something and I quote “every wedding
between Christians is a royal wedding because we are kings and priest.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a
people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you
out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but
now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you
have received mercy. NIV
2. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE WEDDING CEREMONY?
a. Before the ceremony between Prince William
and Kate, Kate was allow to enter the place but she was not allow to enter
certain places in the house, she became limited to some things though the
prince has agree to marry her and his family has accepted it. When the Bishop
pronounce them husband and wife, the access was given to her, they cannot
withhold anything from her again because the whole world knew that she is now
the wife of Prince William. The ceremony officially introduces Kate to the
royal family.
The Prefect
Picture – The marriage
supper of the Lamb will help Christ to officially introduce the Church to His
Father and the Heavenly beings. When Christ introduces the Church to His
Father, we now become part of the heavenly family. Moreover, it will give us
access to everything Christ own.
b. Catherine moves all her belongings to
Prince Williams’ household. She is now a member of the royal family in the
kingdom of Great Britain.
The Perfect
Picture – the Church as the
woman moves from this family of the world to join the new heavenly family
forever. We move from our old identity into a new identity. We will now be
identified by Christ identity.
Ephesians 2:19 Therefore you are no longer
outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens),
but you now share citizenship with the saints (God's own people, consecrated
and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God's [own] household. AMP
Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven.
And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, NIV
c. Before Prince William got married to
Kate, he was known as Prince William of Wales as his title and Kate was known
to Kate with no title. Nevertheless, the very minute the Arch Bishop of
Cambridge pronounces them husband and wife, Prince William received three new
titles, one of them is Dukes of Cambridge and Kate received one title. She is known to be her royal highness,
Duchess of Cambridge. The ceremony gave them those great titles.
The Prefect
Picture – the marriage
supper of the Lamb will confer upon Christ certain titles and on the Church.
The very moment God accept the Church as the bride of Christ His son, the
Church will now be called by the name Kings and priests in God’s kingdom. Revelation
20:6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection.
The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests
of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. NIV
Christ will also receive
five titles.
Revelation
19:11 I saw heaven
standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful
and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on
his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he
himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word
of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses
and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp
sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an
iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God
Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF
KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. NIV
3. THE JOY OF THE CEREMONY
The
ceremony between Prince William and Kate was estimated that about 5000 police
officers were on duty only in London, it was estimated that 1 million people
were on the street of London, 2 billion people watch it on TV across the world,
and they spent about 32 million dollars. Every corner at London was turned to
be a party field. They interviewed some people, and they claimed they came to
sleep there so that they can witness the ceremony. Some funny thing happened
when the ceremony was over in the Church room. The cameras were still on one of
the ushers for the joy of the program roll three times in the Church. This
action tells us of the joy the ceremony brought to some people.
The Prefect Picture – the verse 7 of Chapter 19 says Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come….The
ceremony will bring a lot of joy to the heart of the believer. Can you imagine
the kind of joy and celebration it will be, the shouting and the rejoicing it
will be when we will finally reach home and got married to our long waited
husband. I remember a hymn that says
When
we all get to heaven,
What a
day of rejoicing that will be!
When
we all see Jesus,
We'll
sing and shout the victory!
4. THE CLOTH OF THE WOMAN
What the whole London
was waiting for was the type and kind of the cloth the woman will put on. With the cloth,
the prince was not the target but the woman because the show was to the woman.
She was the one entering into the family. Her wedding gown was made by Sarah
Bouton of Alexandra McQueen.
The Perfect Picture – the Bible says in verse 8 of chapter 19 “Fine
linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine
linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints”. The cloth here the
Bible talks about will not be sold by Gerogio Armani, Boss or any company in
the world because they are not qualified to do that. Heavens has special people
tailors to do it. If you don’t have the cloth there is no way you can be part of
the ceremony as Matthew 22: 11 "But when the king came in to see the
guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12'Friend,'
he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man
was speechless.13 "Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and
foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.' 14 "For many are invited, but few are chosen." NIV
5. THE INVITATION TO THE CEREMONY
I look through to see if I can see the president of Ghana but
he was no there, why? Because he was not invited. It was strictly by
invitation, even the Church members of that Church where the wedding was held
was not allow to attend the program. In all they invited 1900 quest including
the royals. I even saw that the church consist of two chambers, the first
chamber was for those who are not royals but were invited and the second
chamber was for the royals. All those who were invited have at least something
to do with the royal family. I was not invited because they do not know me.
They interviewed one woman who was invited, she said when she got the
invitation to witness the ceremony she was surprise and very much excited to
honor that invitation because she does not know when it will happen again.
The Perfect Picture – the Bible says in verse 9 of chapter 19 that “Blessed
are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’. As for
this ceremony God has open the invitation to all who wish to come and no only
to witness but to partake. Matthew 22:9 Go to the Street corners and invites
to the banquet anyone you find.' 10 So the servants went out into the
streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad,
and the wedding hall was filled with guests. NIV
Be sure you are invited to the royal wedding of the
Lamb
THE SINNERS PRAYER
If you want to be invited, please pray this prayer,
Lord Jesus I am a sinner and I need forgiveness,
Write my name in your book of life that I will
not be lost.
Thank for giving me your Holy Spirit as your
seal.
In Jesus name I ask, AMEN
